Journal #3
For the final stretch of volunteer time, I worked at Liquid Dragon Tattoo Shop in Downtown Asheville with a few of the artists there. William and Nate are the main 2 that I interacted with and both let me watch the tattooing process and had me work on the art skills that are needed to be a tattoo artist. I didn't have to clean or anything because the shop owner was nice enough to not take my volunteering for granted. I did get to interact with customers however and got to see how a tattoo shop works from a different perspective than I was used to, which was a great experience. I plan on finding an actual apprenticeship soon so that I can eventually work in a tattoo shop and hopefully own one.

Volunteer Journal #2
Since my last post, I have changed my volunteer location from the Odyssey Ceramic Studio to Liquid Dragon Tattoo in downtown Asheville. I thought this would be a better place for me to work because I plan on getting licensed and being a tattoo artist at some point, so starting an apprenticeship-type arrangement would help me out a lot. For now, I'll mostly be just helping out the artists, cleaning, and dealing with customers if I need to. I knew a few artists before asking about volunteering because I got a tattoo there last month and plan on going there from now on. I really like the atmosphere and all of the people so I'm very excited to work there.

Volunteer Journal Entry #1
I chose to go to the Odyssey Clay Studio in the River Arts District to do my volunteer work. On Monday, I did 4 hours of work and I'll be doing that every Monday. This past week, I helped move some supplies around, I helped one of the resident artists on staff with her responsibilities for the day, and cleaned some of the work spaces. So far I've enjoyed working there and the people are very welcoming. Overall I'm excited to have the opportunity to work with real artists in a real studio and I hope I can learn a lot from them.
